Your little one’s first day of school is a big milestone – for both of you.
Our School Readiness Program gives your child the skills, confidence, and social readiness
they need to start school happy, excited, and prepared.

If you’re looking for a gentle, play-based way to help your little one get ready for Prep, without rushing their childhood - you’re in the right place.
Our School Readiness Program is designed for 3.5–5-year-olds and is all about building confidence, social skills, and strong foundations in literacy and numeracy - through fun, hands-on learning and lots of care.
We know that starting school can be a big step (for you and your child!), so we’re here to make sure they feel capable, calm, and excited to learn.
Starting school isn’t just about knowing letters and numbers - it’s about having the confidence, social skills, and fine motor foundations to feel calm, capable, and connected in a classroom.
If your child is still developing in these areas, you’re not alone - and you’re not behind.
But these signs might sound familiar:
Social Skills & Confidence
Hesitant to join in with other children or group activities
Prefers adult company or solo play
Finds it hard to take turns or wait patiently
Becomes overwhelmed in busy, noisy environments
Needs extra reassurance to try something new
Worries about “getting it wrong” or says
things like “I can’t do it”
Fine Motor & Early Learning Readiness
Struggles with scissors, drawing,
or with their pencil grip
Avoids mark-making, colouring, or name writing
Tires quickly during hands-on tasks
Has difficulty using small objects like buttons,
pegs, or play dough tools
Finds structured tasks frustrating or “boring”
Build confidence in a calm, supportive setting
Develop early literacy and numeracy skills
Strengthen fine motor skills and pencil grip
Targeted literacy and numeracy activities led by qualified teachers
Learn how to take turns, share, and follow routines
Make friends and feel excited about school
Small group sizes for more personalised support
Prep-style routines like mat time, name writing, and table rotations
Our small-group sessions give them the chance to connect with others, strengthen their fine motor skills, and practise real school routines — all while being supported by a warm, experienced teacher who meets them right where they are.

Who is it for?
Our School Readiness sessions are small-group, play-based programs for 3.5–5-year-olds in the year before Prep.
We focus on learning through movement, hands-on activities, and real connection — not workbooks or pressure. Children are gently guided at their own pace, with activities tailored to their stage of development.
Whether your child is raring to go or needs a little extra time to warm up, we’re here to support their journey.
How This Fits With Kindy
Our School Readiness Program is designed to complement your child’s Kindy experience — not replace it.
Kindy offers wonderful opportunities for free play, socialisation, and general development.
Our program is the perfect next step to help your child bridge the gap between Kindy and school — especially if you’re looking for that extra confidence boost before Prep begins.
01. Settle In – Children arrive and begin with puzzles, blocks, or quiet floor activities while they warm up and feel comfortable.
02. Welcome Circle & Story Time – We start together with a group welcome, movement, and a picture book that sets the theme for the day.
03. Literacy Focus – We introduce a fun, structured PreLit activity, such as identifying sounds, clapping syllables, or recognising letters through games.
04. Name & Handwriting Practice – Each child practices building, tracing and writing their name before moving on to our Casey Caterpillar handwriting lesson where we practice pre-writing shapes.
05. Snack Break – A short break for morning tea and chats with friends. We also practice routines such as hand washing, taking care of belongings and opening and closing containers and packaging.
06. Activity Stations – Children rotate through play-based learning stations, including:
• Fine motor & craft
• Numeracy & problem-solving
• Sensory & imaginative play
Each child is gently supported at their own pace, and activities are adjusted to meet their individual needs and goals.
Our sessions are drop-and-go, which gives your child the chance to build independence while still feeling safe in a small, nurturing group.
We know this can be a big step - we're here to support both you and your child through the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — children must be fully toilet trained to attend. As we don’t have the staffing or facilities for nappy changes, we kindly ask that children are able to use the toilet independently before joining.
Our program is designed as a drop-and-go experience to help children build independence and prepare for school routines. We find children settle best when given space to explore with gentle teacher support. However, we’ll work with you during those first sessions if your child needs a little extra reassurance.
That’s completely okay (and very common!). We create a gentle, welcoming environment where children are given time and space to warm up. We’ll always work with you to support a positive transition
No - our School Readiness Program is designed to complement your child’s Kindy experience, not replace it. While Kindy supports general development through play and socialisation, our program offers more focused support in early literacy, numeracy, and fine motor skills in a smaller group setting. Many children attend both!
